Born somewhere along the Mediterranean — Valentino prefers not to specify, as he believes geography flattens the soul — he relocated to the United States to pursue what he calls "the American silence."
He studied movement in Milan, a fact he mentions in every interview and which cannot be verified. He speaks four languages "in fragments," and refuses to identify which four.
Valentino is best suited for luxury editorial, fragrance work, and private artistic engagements in which the client requires a presence rather than a personality. He prefers to be addressed in French, even when the conversation is in English.

From the sea, more than from a place. My village is small. Very small. You would not have heard of it. Even I, I sometimes forget the name. That is the gift of the Mediterranean, no?
What drew you to modeling?
Modeling did not draw me. Modeling watched me. From across the piazza. For many years. And one day, it approached, and we — how to say — we agreed.
Describe your ideal booking.
A patron who does not speak much. Candlelight. A long meal. We do not need to fill the silence. The silence is the work.
Favorite city?
Milano. Paris. There is also a small place in New Jersey I find spiritually necessary. I will not say where.
What do other models get wrong about the craft?
They perform. I do not perform. I allow the camera to come into my room. Sometimes I do not look at it. Sometimes the photograph is just a feeling I left behind.
